Rick Lofton — Vinyl of Venus
Oshun
The cover plate is published from the song-page master. The master also paints a play badge onto the corner of the cover; it is left as supplied rather than retouched, and the real play control below is disabled with its reason.
Not available. There is no audio file anywhere in the supplied material — not one, in any archive or in this site — so there is nothing for this control to play. It is shown because the artwork paints it, and it is disabled because playing nothing while appearing to play something would be a lie.
Lyrics
Reproduced exactly as the supplied lyric document has it, including the document’s own title, author and date lines, its line order, its capitalisation and its repetitions. Nothing is completed, corrected, paraphrased or added.

I was born in the waterIn a river downstreamIn the bubble of a dreamCrafted by Oshun herselfMy mother made a sirenGifted in song, enchanted by musicOshun cleansed me in the waterGifted me with clarityA pure heart and discernmentA mouth to speak the truthSlanted Eyes to spot evilOshun gave me meaningThrough the water, through a songOshun cleansed me in the water
Siren of the oceanBlessed child of GodThere's a spark of beauty in your eyesAs fluid as water itselfDeeper than the oceansCalming like a riverViolent like the rapidsThe engulfment of a waveDaughter of divinityEnchantress of fluidityDaughter of OshunFluid is your motionsDance and songRun through your bloodThrough your spiritYou're anointed from aboveYou're in harmony with the tidesContract like the shorelineSway like a riptideTo the baselineShe bends and winds
She hits like a tsunamiRolls just like a waveShe contorts like the riptidesWith the grace of a streamWith a switch of her hipsYour caught up,Drowning in a spiralIn the cusp of a waveIn the waist,She finds the rythmFound solace in the drumsDaughter of OshunWith velvet skin,A body sculpted by the GodsShe's anointed from aboveHer walk says it all
As fluid as water itselfDeeper than the oceansCalming like a riverViolent like the rapidsThe engulfment of a waveDaughter of divinityEnchantress of fluidityChild of GodDaughter of Oshun
