Rick Lofton — Vinyl of Venus

Augment of Desire

The supplied cover artwork for Augment of Desire, from the Vinyl of Venus song-page master.

The cover plate is published from the song-page master. The master also paints a play badge onto the corner of the cover; it is left as supplied rather than retouched, and the real play control below is disabled with its reason.

Not available. There is no audio file anywhere in the supplied material — not one, in any archive or in this site — so there is nothing for this control to play. It is shown because the artwork paints it, and it is disabled because playing nothing while appearing to play something would be a lie.

Lyrics

Reproduced exactly as the supplied lyric document has it, including the document’s own title, author and date lines, its line order, its capitalisation and its repetitions. Nothing is completed, corrected, paraphrased or added.

Augment of DesireBy: Rick Lofton8/8/2025

I’m your augment of desireFlame to the fireWhat every man desiresThe ignition in his gutI sway when I strutI’m the augment of desireAn aberration a fantasyGliding on waterSo unbotheredEmbodiment of the fireAugment of desireThe addendum,The exceptionTopic of conversation

I’m the augment of your desireAll you needEverything you want and moreAugment of desire,Flame to the fireYour fantasy’s desireYour darkest wishI'm your peace,The embodiment of loveAn augmentA fragment of divinityAugment of your desire

I drive him wildI'm the verb the nounThe predicateEverything he wantsA full sentencePlump and thickI'm anything he wantsAnything he needsI conform, I submitLift him up when neededRight by his sideCovering his flankProviding coverAs we fight the worldJust the two of usBonded in perpetuityI guide he followsHe speaks, I listenHe calls me his extensionI'm his reasonThe air to his fire

I’m the augment of your desireAll you needEverything you want and moreAugment of desire,Flame to the fireYour fantasy’s desireYour darkest wishI'm your peace,The embodiment of loveAn augmentA fragment of divinityAugment of your desire

He'll take out a platoonWith a simple commandWith a waive of my handHe'll go to war and he knowsI'll burn down the village,Just to get himNot to be tempted, or enticedThis one is mineWilling to go to warFor this augment of mineMy encryption of loveMy augment of desireThe breath to my flameTwin of my soulMy incarnateOxygen in my breathThe reason for each stepThe pulse behind my breathingMy meaningMy augment of desire

I’m the augment of your desireAll you needEverything you want and moreAugment of desire,Flame to the fireYour fantasy’s desireYour darkest wishI'm your peace,The embodiment of loveAn augmentA fragment of divinityAugment of your desire

I'm the verb the nounThe predicateEverything he wantsA full sentenceHe'll take out a platoonWith a simple commandWith a waive of my hand
