Supporting tools

  • AI assistant: Draft material for manual review.
  • Backup software: Protect previous file versions.
  • Obsidian Sync: Optional multi-device synchronization.

What to check

  • Vault identity: Know the folder containing the notes.
  • Backup recovery: Test restoring a copied practice note.
  • Plugin scope: Start with core features; add trusted plugins.

Optional extension

  • Approved draft: Review the content
  • Markdown file: Save the note
  • Obsidian vault: Link and organize
  • Sync if needed: Share across devices
  • Backup archive: Keep recovery copies

Optional knowledge-production path with manual file handoffs and separately configured sync/backup. Sync is not a substitute for a recovery backup; avoid conflicting sync setups.

Lean starter

Obsidian + local Markdown + a tested backup. Community AI plugins and cloud sync are optional.

Example

Review an AI answer → save a decision note → link the project brief → confirm the vault and backup can be opened.
