BEGINNER / BROWSER FIRST
1. Set the stage
Start with the Grok web app and one bounded task. Consumer chat and developer API access are separate starting paths.
1. Open the official app
Visit grok.com and use the account sign-in options shown. Review the available features and usage allowance before selecting a plan.
2. Frame the task
Name the audience, outcome, and limits. Begin with a short text conversation instead of adding image, research, or developer features at once.
3. Control the evidence
For a factual task, request dates and original links when search is available. Check those pages rather than treating confidence as proof.
4. Save & refine
Ask for one specific improvement. Keep the approved answer in a notes file and record which facts you checked.

Separate chat from the API
You do not need an API key for this browser exercise. A developer integration has its own credentials, billing, and implementation work.
Choose a small first goal
Use a brainstorm or explanation you can judge. Avoid connecting additional apps until you can explain what each connection contributes.
3. First practice task
Give me five practical uses for AI in a small studio. For each, name the input, expected output, one limitation, and a simple way to test whether it actually helps.
Your setup is working when
You can compare the ideas, verify any factual claims, and choose one small experiment with an observable result.
Troubleshooting
Generic ideas? Add industry context. Current claim? Check a dated original source. Missing option? Check account availability.
