1. Set the stage
Start with the official DeepSeek website and its chat entry point. A browser conversation does not require installing model weights or using the API.

Visit deepseek.com and follow its chat link. Sign in as required. Avoid look-alike download sites and unofficial installers.
2. Give a small example
Paste a short non-sensitive process. Ask for a checklist or explanation with a defined audience and length.
3. Test its reasoning
Ask it to state assumptions and check one worked example. Verify calculations and technical instructions independently.
4. Save the approved version
Ask for a concise revision. Copy the accepted checklist into your own notes. Treat developer API setup as a separate later task.
