Claude Setup Guide

Turn approved business material into a consistent, useful deliverable.

1. Set the stage
Use the web app for your first task. Keep Claude chat separate from Claude Code: a writing task does not require a terminal.
1. Create your account
Go to claude.ai and sign in or create an account. Use the official desktop download only if you want a local app.
2. Give it the right context
Start a chat and attach a small document you are allowed to use. Explain the audience, goal, and required output.
3. Set repeatable instructions
Use a project or profile instructions, when available, for recurring brand rules. Start with plain language and a small set of facts.
4. Review the result
Ask for one draft, then a targeted revision. Download the file or copy the approved text into your own working document.
2. Lean working stack
| Stage | Role | | --- | --- | | Claude | Draft & analyze | | Source files | Validate details | | Obsidian | Keep the brief | | Human review | Approve output |
Arrows in the visual sheet show the order of work. External connections require separate setup. Optional tools may be replaced with ones you already use. This is a suggested stack for this task, not a universal optimum.
Make context specific
Include the approved facts, tone, structure, and things to avoid. Explicitly ask Claude to identify missing information.
Connect with a purpose
File uploads are enough to start. Add connectors or reusable skills only when a repeated task actually needs them.
3. First practice task
Using this approved brief, write a one-page onboarding checklist for a new client. Separate client actions from our actions. Flag missing details; do not invent dates or promises.
Your setup is working when
The checklist matches the supplied brief, revisions preserve the facts, and you can open the saved output outside the chat.
Troubleshooting
Vague answer? Add examples. Missing file details? Reattach the right version. Unavailable feature? Check workspace settings and plan.
