Turn a rough business brief into a clear, reviewed first draft.

BEGINNER / BROWSER FIRST

1. Set the stage

You need an internet connection, an account, and one small task. Start with the browser; a desktop app is optional.

1. Open & sign in

Go to chatgpt.com and create an account or sign in. For desktop, follow the official download link from ChatGPT and choose your operating system.

2. Choose your data settings

Open Settings > Data controls. Review Improve the model for everyone if available. Use only business information you are authorized to share.

3. Set useful preferences

In Settings > Personalization, add your audience, preferred tone, and response format to custom instructions. Keep confidential details out.

4. Run a small first task

Start a new chat. Supply the goal, audience, facts, and output format. Begin with the default model; add tools only when your task needs them.

2. Lean working stack

| Stage | Role | | --- | --- | | ChatGPT | Draft & refine | | Obsidian | Keep approved notes | | Canva | Design the output | | Human review | Check & publish |

Arrows in the visual sheet show the order of work. External connections require separate setup. Optional tools may be replaced with ones you already use. This is a suggested stack for this task, not a universal optimum.

Start simple. Add purposefully.

Paste a short brief first. Attach files or use search when available and relevant. Check plan and workspace availability before relying on a feature.

Keep a reusable brief

Record your audience, offer, approved facts, brand voice, and output format. Reuse that context so each draft begins with the same foundation.

3. First practice task

Help me draft a 150-word welcome email for [audience]. Our offer is [offer]. Use only these approved facts: [facts]. Keep the tone [tone]. Give me three subject lines and one clear next step. Flag missing information instead of inventing it.

Your setup is working when

You receive a relevant draft, ask for a revision, and save the version you approve. Verify names, claims, links, and numbers before sharing.

Troubleshooting

Too generic? Add audience and examples. Wrong facts? Provide verified details. Missing feature? Check your plan or workspace.
