Canva Setup Guide

Build a branded learning sheet with sharp, editable typography.
BEGINNER / BROWSER DESIGN
1. Set the stage
Use Canva for exact layout and text. AI artwork can support the design, but labels, instructions, and diagrams should remain readable and editable.
1. Create the design
Sign in at canva.com. Choose a document or custom canvas size matched to the final use, such as a portrait learning sheet.
2. Set the brand structure
Add the teal, cream, and brass palette. Establish a title style, body style, full border, and consistent colored section bars.
3. Add artwork & exact text
Upload an approved illustration or use an available AI creation tool. Keep essential text in text boxes and diagrams as editable shapes.
4. Inspect & export
Zoom in to check lettering and alignment. Verify edge clearance and export the appropriate PNG or PDF, then open the downloaded file.
2. Lean working stack
| Stage | Role | | --- | --- | | Approved brief | Prepare content | | Canva | Lay out & typeset | | PNG or PDF | Export the design | | Human review | Inspect full size |
Arrows in the visual sheet show the order of work. External connections require separate setup. Optional tools may be replaced with ones you already use. This is a suggested stack for this task, not a universal optimum.
Use AI for the right layer
Generate a decorative instrument or scene if useful. Typeset facts and commands separately so an illustration error does not corrupt instructions.
Keep the design system small
Use two fonts, a few heading sizes, and a limited palette. A brand kit is optional; consistent manual styles can work for the first sheet.
3. First practice task
Create a portrait Quill learning sheet with a brass instrument header, teal-and-cream panels, full gold border, and three colored section bars. Use editable text for every instruction and label.
Your setup is working when
The exported design is crisp, all text is legible, the border is complete, and no element is clipped or obscured by the artwork.
Troubleshooting
Fuzzy export? Check dimensions and format. Overflowing text? Shorten or resize the box. Missing asset? Check its upload and licensing.
